What happened

Kirkland's is recalling two models of wooden chests of drawers because they can tip over if not anchored to the wall, creating a risk of death or injury to children. The first recalled model is a five-drawer mirrored chest with a black wash finish (SKU 177373), measuring 35 inches tall and weighing about 47 pounds. The second is a six-drawer Camille chest with a cream distressed finish (SKU 145191), measuring 36 inches tall and weighing about 75 pounds. Both chests are made of MDF wood and do not meet the requirements of the voluntary industry safety standard ASTM 2057-17.

To find the SKU number, consumers should check the Kirkland's price label attached to the back of the furniture hangtag. According to the recall, affected consumers should immediately stop using the chests and keep them in a room away from children. Consumers can either return the chest to a Kirkland's store for a refund, or they can contact Kirkland's to receive a free tip-over restraint kit with one-time free in-home installation.
