Vernier Circuit Board 2
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Vernier Software & Technology is recalling the Vernier Circuit Board 2 (VCB2), a green educational circuit board measuring 10 inches wide by 6.5 inches tall, due to a burn hazard. Two switches on the board can become stuck between positions, causing them to short out and overheat. When this occurs, the metal case of the switch can become dangerously hot. The recalled boards were shipped between August 2015 and April 10, 2018, and bear revision codes "VCB2 REV 1 PPRL 2015" or "VCB2 REV 1A PPRL 2015" printed on the lower section near pins 35, 30, and 31.
Consumers who own a recalled circuit board should immediately stop using it and return it to Vernier for a free repair. The firm's website contains instructions for returning the units, and Vernier is also contacting known customers directly.
