What happened

Double Insight is recalling Gem 65 8-in-1 multicookers sold exclusively at Walmart due to a manufacturer defect that can cause the appliance to overheat and melt on the underside, creating a fire hazard. The recalled multicookers are multifunctional cooking appliances with "Instant Pot" printed on the front and have batch codes 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734, or 1746 printed on the rating label on the underside of the product.

If you own an affected multicooker, you should immediately stop using it, unplug the unit, and return it to Walmart for a free replacement.
