What happened

John Deere is recalling ZTrak residential riding mowers in models Z335M, Z345M, Z345R, Z355R, and Z375R because the mower blades can continue rotating under power even after the operator leaves the seat, creating a risk of laceration to the user or bystanders. The affected machines are green and yellow colored mowers with John Deere branding on the front, serial numbers beginning with 1GX printed on the rear frame near the engine, and serial numbers within specified ranges listed in the recall notice.

Consumers who own a recalled mower should stop using it immediately and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free repair. John Deere is contacting purchasers of the recalled mowers directly.
