What happened

John Deere is recalling model D105 lawn tractors with serial numbers beginning with 1GXD105 and service part transmissions sold by authorized John Deere dealers for the D105 tractor. The transmission in these units can fail, which poses a crash hazard. The serial number can be found on the rear frame of the machine above the left rear tire, and a complete list of affected serial numbers is available at www.JohnDeere.com/D105-Transmission-Recall.

Consumers who own a recalled lawn tractor or had their transmission replaced between March 2016 and August 2017 should immediately stop using the equipment and contact a John Deere dealer for a free repair. Those whose serial number does not appear on the website but had a replacement transmission installed during that timeframe should contact their John Deere service dealer to determine if their replacement transmission is included in the recall.
