What happened

Lithonia Lighting has recalled its BLT series commercial LED luminaires because the plastic lens can detach and fall, creating a risk of injury. Only non-sensor models manufactured between October 2015 and August 2016 are included in this recall.

Affected consumers should remove the lens and contact Lithonia Lighting to receive a free repair kit to secure the original lens. Until the lenses are removed or the luminaires are repaired, consumers should prevent people from entering the immediate area under the fixtures. A video demonstrating proper lens removal and repair kit installation is available on Lithonia Lighting's website at www.lithonia.com/bltvideo. The product's model number and manufacture date can be located on a label attached to the fixture's housing and on the product packaging, with the date code on the fixture label in MM/DD/YY format and on packaging in YYYY/MM/DD format.
