The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and I-Tech Sport Products Inc. are recalling certain hockey face guards that attach to helmets. These face guards can become dislodged when struck and fall off during use, potentially exposing the wearer's face to injury. The recall affects only face guards marked with "OPTECH System" on the black side clips, with "ITECH" printed on the plastic eye shield, chin guard, and chin guard strap. Face guards labeled "ITECH FX50" on the black side clips are not affected by this recall.
Consumers who own recalled face guards should stop using them immediately. According to the recall notice, affected consumers can return their recalled face guards to the store where they were purchased for a free replacement, or they can contact I-Tech Sport Products Inc. directly to receive a free replacement face guard by mail.

Only face guards with "OPTECH System," written on the black side clips, which lock on the plastic eye shield, are part of this recall. "ITECH" is written at the top center of the plastic eye shield, on the chin guard and on the chin guard strap. The model number of the face guards, "FX.50," is written on the packaging. Hockey face guards with "ITECH FX50" written on the black side clips are not part of this recall.
