Calphalon is recalling 17- and 21-piece Contemporary Cutlery Knife Sets (model numbers KNS17C and KNS21C) manufactured between August 2007 and May 1, 2011. The tips of the 8-inch slicing knife and/or 8-inch bread knife can protrude through the bottom slot row of the wooden block holder, creating a laceration hazard. The recalled knife block sets have the Calphalon logo stamped in black on the front but do not have model or date code markings on the wooden block. Knife block sets with a three-digit number imprinted on the underside are not affected by this recall.
Consumers who own affected knife sets should immediately contact Calphalon at (800) 766-5652 to receive a free repair kit for their recalled products.
