Water Heating Technologies is recalling "American Standard" brand gas water heaters with model numbers beginning with GN and GSN, sold in 30, 40, and 50 gallon capacities. The water heaters have a space between the burner flange and the combustion chamber that allows flammable liquids or gases to come into contact with burning flammable vapors, creating a risk of fire or explosion.
If you own one of these water heaters, you should immediately stop using it and contact Water Heating Technologies to arrange for a service technician to inspect, repair, or replace your water heater at no charge. You can find a complete list of recalled model and serial numbers on the company's website at http://www.americanstandardwaterheaters.com/recall/. The model number is printed on a label on the side of the water heater.
