What happened

Kenwood is recalling the Blend-X PRO blender model BLM800 because the lower blade can break during use, which creates a risk of cuts or lacerations. The recalled units can be identified by a rating label on the bottom of the base showing Type BLM80 with a date code between 14X01 and 15X22 (where "X" represents any letter). The blender has a glass jar with a glass handle, black plastic lid, and gray power unit with motor and control panel.

If you own a recalled blender, you should immediately stop using it. Contact Kenwood to arrange for a free replacement blade assembly kit to be sent to your home.
