What happened

Nipponflex is recalling all models and sizes of its Smart Care, Smart Care split, Smart Flex, and Smart Flex split mattresses because they fail to meet the federal flammability standard for mattresses, creating a fire hazard. The recalled mattresses are white with an electric massage function controlled by a remote, and the company name along with the model name is printed on a label on the mattress side. Split models consist of two single mattresses joined to form a queen or king size bed.

Consumers who have one of these mattresses should contact Nipponflex to receive a free mattress cover that will bring the mattress into compliance with the federal standard. The company also offers assistance with installation upon request.
