Colin Cowie Gel-Fuel Wood Fireplaces
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Southern Enterprises is recalling Colin Cowie dual-positioning, wood wall-mount, gel-fuel fireplaces (item No. 955-074) that were manufactured in July 2010 with lot number SEI/07/001. The fireplaces, which feature an espresso-colored finish with copper, silver, or antique gold metal trim and can be hung horizontally or vertically, were sold exclusively by Home Shopping Network. The units pose a fire and fall hazard because heat from operation causes the plastic mounting screws to deform, which can cause the fireplace to fall from the wall.
Consumers who own a recalled fireplace should immediately stop using the product and call Southern Enterprises (SEI) to receive a corrective retrofit kit at no charge, which will be sent free of charge.
