Axiom Firefly bike passenger trailers
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Norco Products USA is recalling approximately 450 bike passenger trailers designed to carry one or two children behind a bicycle. The recalled models include Norco Stagecoach, Norco Rambler, Norco Tot Taxi, Axiom Firefly, and Bike Mate Trailer models with a folding arm. Metal fatigue could cause failure at the hitch arm pivot bracket, which could result in the trailer breaking loose from the bicycle and potentially causing injury to a child in the trailer. The company is not aware of any injuries occurring from this defect. These trailers were sold by small independent bicycle shops in Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Idaho, and Colorado between January 1997 and February 1998 for approximately $200 to $350.
Affected consumers should stop using the trailers immediately and contact either the store where they purchased the trailer or Norco Products USA at (800) 663-8916 to arrange for a free safety upgrade kit installation. Norco is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST.
