The converters, which convert international 220/440 volt electricity to 110/120 volts and are rated for 50 to 1,600 watts, could short circuit and present fire, shock, and thermal burn hazards. The plastic and metal converters have "1600 WATT FOREIGN TRAVEL CONVERTER" printed on the front and were sold in boxes labeled "SOMITO" for approximately $3. The CPSC and the company are not aware of any injuries from these products.
