What happened

The First Years is recalling American Red Cross cabinet swing locks (item number Y7181) because the installed latches can break, potentially allowing children to access cabinet contents and hazardous items inside. The locks were sold two per blister card and feature an American Red Cross logo and the words "cabinet swing lock" on the packaging, with "American Red Cross" molded onto the front of each lock.

Consumers who own these latches should immediately remove them from cabinets and drawers, record the date code printed on the back of each latch, and contact The First Years to obtain a $5 coupon toward another Learning Curve product purchase. When removing the latches, consumers should ensure that any hazardous items are stored out of children's reach.
