American Honda Motor Co. is recalling Model Year 2007-08 Honda TRX420 ATVs, also known as Honda FourTrax Rancher 4X4, due to a safety hazard involving the rubber CV (constant velocity) boots. If these boots become punctured or torn, the CV joints can become contaminated, leading to severe binding that could cause sudden loss of steering control. This poses a risk of injury or death to riders. The recalled ATVs are adult-size models designed for riders age 16 and older and are available in red, black, olive, and camouflage colors.
According to the recall notice, consumers who own affected ATVs should immediately stop using them and contact any Honda ATV dealer to schedule a free repair appointment. Registered owners of the recalled ATVs have been sent direct notices about this recall.
