MEGA Brands is recalling Magtastik and Magnetix Jr. Pre-School Magnetic Toys because magnets embedded in small flexible parts of the toys can detach. Young children who swallow or aspirate these loose magnets face serious health risks. If a child swallows more than one magnet, the magnets can attract each other inside the body and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal.
The recall affects numerous Magtastik and Magnetix Jr. products, including starter sets, deluxe sets, and themed collections with animal, vehicle, and building designs. The model number can be found printed on the front of the product packaging. According to the recall, consumers should stop using the recalled toys immediately and return them to MEGA Brands for a free replacement toy.
