Reynolds Recalls Bicycle Forks Due to Fall Hazard

Is my product affected?

Reynolds UL Bicycle Forks

  • Brand MacLean Quality Composites, d.b.a. Reynolds, of West Jordan, Utah

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Reynolds has recalled certain UL bicycle fork models due to a safety hazard where the fork tips could separate from the fork legs, potentially causing the wheel to come loose while riding and creating a serious fall risk. The recall affects forks with 43 mm and 50 mm rakes and serial numbers ranging from 09100 through 10403. The serial number can be found on a decal located on the steer tube, which requires removing the fork from the frame to view. Some recalled forks are black with "Reynolds" printed on them and have a gray and white stripe on the legs, while others have different paint schemes without the Reynolds name printed on them.

According to the recall notice, consumers who own bicycles with the affected forks should stop using them immediately and contact Reynolds for a free replacement fork. If you are unsure whether your fork is included in this recall, Reynolds recommends contacting the company directly to determine if your specific fork model is affected.
