Kong Maxx Ladder Stands sold at Gander Mountain are being recalled because they can become unstable during use and cause the user to fall. The problem occurs because one ladder section addition places the platform too far from the bracing. When the stand reaches its full height, the distance between the bracing and platform can result in platform instability before or during attachment to or detachment from the tree.
The recall affects Gorilla Kong Maxx Ladder Stands with model number 43032 and batch numbers G051507, G051507D, G061507D, G071507D, and G081507D. The model number appears on the product box, while batch numbers are stamped on the vertical rail of the first ladder section. The stand measures 19 feet to the shooting rail and 16 feet 8 inches to the platform, with a foot platform width of 17½ inches. According to the recall, consumers should immediately stop using the ladder stands and contact Gorilla Inc. to receive a refund.
