Polaris Model Year 2006 Hawkeye 2x4 and Hawkeye 4x4 ATVs
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Polaris is recalling certain 2006 Hawkeye model ATVs due to a defect in the front bearing carrier. The carrier can fail because there is insufficient material thickness where the lower a-arm and ball joint attach. This failure can cause loss of control, crashes, and serious injury to the operator. Three crashes have been reported related to this issue. The recall applies only to Hawkeye 2x4 model A06LB27AA and Hawkeye 4x4 model A06LD27AA/AB/AC that were produced before January 30, 2006.
Consumers who own a recalled ATV should immediately stop using it and contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair. To determine if your ATV is included in the recall, contact a Polaris dealer or Polaris directly with your vehicle's serial number (VIN), which is located on an identification decal under the right-hand front fender and stamped on the lower portion of the frame behind the left front wheel. Polaris is contacting registered consumers directly.
