Olympic Weightlifting Bars
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
York Barbell Co. has recalled certain weightlifting bars because a defect in the sleeve mechanism can cause the bars to break under heavy weight, potentially injuring users and bystanders. The recall includes several models of 7-foot International Olympic bars (both Hard Chrome and Black Oxide versions in 1000 lb. and 1500 lb. test ratings), as well as 7-foot International Men's Olympic Needle-bearing bars and 6½-foot International Women's Olympic Needle-bearing bars. All recalled bars have split sleeves and "YORK" printed on the sleeve assemblies.
Consumers who own these bars should stop using them immediately and return them to York Barbell for a full refund. The specific model numbers affected are 32010, 32011, 32012, 32013, 32020, and 32021.
