Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
HP is recalling lithium-ion rechargeable batteries used in various HP and Compaq notebook computers because an internal failure can cause the battery to overheat and melt or char the plastic case, creating a burn and fire hazard. The recalled batteries are a subset manufactured in early January 2005 and have a bar code label starting with "L3." Affected models include the HP Pavilion dv1xxx and ze2xxx series, HP Compaq nx48xx series, and Compaq Presario V2xxx and M2xxx series.
Consumers should immediately stop using batteries with "L3" bar codes and contact HP to confirm whether their specific battery is included in the recall. If the battery is recalled, HP will provide a free replacement. Until the replacement arrives, consumers should remove the recalled battery and power their notebook computer using only the AC adapter.
