HSN LP and the Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled Welbilt Electronic Pressure Cookers, model number PC501, due to a hazard where the lid can open prematurely while the contents are under pressure. This premature opening can cause hot contents to be expelled, potentially causing scald or burn injuries to people nearby. The recalled model measures 11 inches high, 11 inches wide, and 15 inches long and was sold in white. The model number PC501 can be found in three locations on the unit: near the control panel, on the instruction and warning label near the bottom, and on the bottom of the product.
Consumers who own this pressure cooker should stop using it immediately. According to the recall notice, HSN will provide a refund of the purchase price to affected consumers.
