KitchenAid coffeemakers are being recalled because an internal electrical component can overheat and ignite, creating a fire hazard. The recalled models are 10-cup and 12-cup coffeemakers in black, white, red, or blue. The affected 10-cup models are KCM120OB, KCM120WH, KCM300OB, and KCM300WH. The affected 12-cup models are KCM200OB, KCM200WH, KCM400OB, KCM400WH, KCM400ER, and KCM400BU. Consumers can identify affected products by checking the model and serial numbers on a label on the bottom of the coffeemaker; affected serial numbers begin with WCJ, WCK, WCL, WCM, or WCP.
According to the recall notice, affected consumers should unplug and stop using their coffeemakers immediately and inform all users of the product not to use it. Consumers should contact KitchenAid to verify their product is affected and to arrange either a reimbursement for purchasing another coffeemaker or an exchange for another KitchenAid product. The recalled KitchenAid® coffeemakers are black, white, red, or blue in color. They are manufactured in 10- and 12-cup models. Consumers can determine if they have one of the recalled coffeemakers by identifying the product's model and serial numbers, which are located on a label on the bottom of the coffeemaker. The affected models include: 10 - cup models KCM120OB KCM120WH KCM300OB KCM300WH 12 - cup models KCM200OB KCM200WH KCM400OB KCM400WH KCM400ER KCM400BU The serial numbers of the affected products begin with the letters WCJ, WCK, WCL, WCM, and WCP.
