Manitou Bicycle Suspension Forks
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Answer Products Inc. are recalling 2005 Manitou bicycle suspension forks, including the Nixon, Stance, and Sherman models, that were installed on various high-end mountain bicycles. When the fork is fully compressed, the top may contact the front tire, which can cause the cyclist to lose control of the bicycle and fall.
Consumers should check the back of the lower leg portion of their fork for a decal that reads "Tire Clearance Upgrade Installed." If the decal is not present, they should stop using the bicycle immediately and contact Answer Products to arrange for a free travel upgrade kit to be installed. Consumers should also discard their current Owners' Manual and contact Answer Products to receive a replacement manual at no cost.
