Holmes® and Bionaire® Tower Heater Fans

The Consumer Product Safety Commission and The Holmes Group are recalling certain tower heater fans due to a defect in the power cord. The power cord can fray or sever, which causes the fan to stop working and the unit to overheat, creating a fire hazard. The recall affects Holmes® models HFH6498-U, HFH6500-U, and HFH6500TG-U, as well as Bionaire® model BFH3530-U. Recalled Holmes® units have date codes ranging from 2604 through 3804, while Holmes® model 6500TG-U units have date codes from 2604 through 4704. The Bionaire® model has date codes from 2604 through 3804. The model and date code appear on a silver label on the back of the unit. The heaters are 26 inches tall and come in all gray, two-tone gray, or black and gray colorways with either "Holmes®" or "Bionaire®" printed on the front of the base.
Consumers who own one of these recalled heater fans should immediately stop using them and contact The Holmes Group for instructions on how to receive a replacement unit.
