Robertshaw TS-11 Thermal Safety Control Gas Valve and the "magnet head" on the gas valve

  • Brand Robertshaw Controls Company of Long Beach, California

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Robertshaw Controls Company and the CPSC have recalled TS-11 Thermal Safety Control Gas Valves used in commercial cooking equipment such as ranges, griddles, fryers, and warming trays. The valves, manufactured between February 2003 and August 2004 (identified by date codes 0306 through 0432), pose a fire and explosion hazard because if the pilot light goes out, the gas valve can stick open and allow gas to continue flowing, potentially causing a gas explosion or fire that could result in severe personal injury or property damage.

If you smell gas near the appliance or building, you should immediately leave the area and call your gas company or a certified gas technician. If you do not smell gas, check the pilot lights on your gas appliances, and if any are out, do not attempt to relight—instead have the appliance examined by your gas company or a qualified technician. Robertshaw Controls Company will provide free repair or replacement of the recalled gas valves. You should have the date-code of your TS-11 gas valve ready when contacting Robertshaw.
