What happened

Avanti Products Inc. is recalling six models of water dispensers with hot water faucets due to a malfunction in the child-resistant safety feature. The faucet can fail to turn off, potentially causing burn injuries to children. The affected models are WD32, WD50, WD50.1, WDT51, WDR52, and WHC59. These units have "Avanti" written on the front of the base, and the model number appears on a silver sticker on the back. The WDR52 is a combination refrigerator and water dispenser, and all six models have removable drip trays and accept 3- or 5-gallon water bottles.

Consumers with small children should immediately turn off the hot water by switching the red switch on the back of the dispenser to the off position and contact Avanti to receive a free repair.

Hazard
