Portable generators
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and DeVilbiss Air Power Company are investigating whether fuel tanks on certain portable generators can crack where they mount on the frame, which could create a fire hazard. The affected generators are branded as DeVilbiss Air Power Company, EX-CELL, PowerBack, Companion Model 919-32721, and Craftsman Model No. 919-32651, but only those with seven-gallon tanks bearing manufacture dates prior to June 1, 1999 (found on the serial barcode label on the tank support rails or shipping carton). As a precaution while the investigation continues, consumers should not put more than three gallons of gasoline in these fuel tanks at any time.
Any consumer who observes leakage from the tank should stop using the generator immediately and contact DeVilbiss Air Power Company to receive a free replacement tank under warranty. The source does not specify what other actions consumers should take if they have not observed leakage.
