IMI Cornelius has recalled certain Pinnacle FCB frozen carbonate beverage dispensers because the motor drive can overheat, causing the liquid inside to become hot. When this occurs, the dispenser's nozzle may break and spray hot liquid on consumers, creating a burn hazard.
The recall affects Pinnacle FCB dispensers manufactured between May 2002 and June 2004 that have a specific motor drive system. These units have "Cornelius," "FCB," and "Pinnacle" marked on identification plates on the right-side panel and feature either two or four dispensing valves in various color combinations. Affected consumers should stop using the dispenser and contact IMI Cornelius, which will either send a representative to repair the product at no cost or provide a modification kit with instructions.
