Disposable Cigarette Lighter
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Montrose Wholesale Candies & Sundries Inc. and the CPSC are recalling oval-tube-shaped disposable cigarette lighters branded as "BIC" or mini-"BIC" that were illegally imported. The recalled lighters have a green, red, blue, black, or yellow body with a metal top imprinted with "BIC" and "Made in France." The standard size lighters have UPC number 3 086120 600020, and the mini-lighters have UPC number 3 086120 600051. These lighters lack child-resistant mechanisms required by federal law, creating fire and burn hazards if young children are able to ignite them. The recalled lighters do not have a metal shield over the spark wheel, which is a feature present on compliant child-resistant lighters.
Consumers who have these lighters should stop using them immediately and return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
