Hot water dispensers
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
In-Sink-Erator and the CPSC are recalling half-gallon capacity instant hot water dispensers sold under multiple brand names including In-Sink-Erator, ISE, Steamin' Hot, Emerson, Dayton, ACE, Kenmore, and Kohler. The dispensers were made in the USA and have serial numbers starting with two letters followed by 999-10, or serial numbers between 1000 and 3084000. Water can leak from the metal holding tank, saturate the insulating material, and cause electrical arcing and heat buildup, creating a fire hazard. The one-third gallon capacity models are not affected.
According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately unplug their hot water dispensers and check the serial number on the specification plate attached to the metal holding tank. Consumers whose units are part of the recall should contact In-Sink-Erator, and affected units will receive a replacement insulation shield as a remedy.
