CPSC, Jade Products Inc. Announce Recall to Repair Dynasty Gas Ranges

Is my product affected?

Dynasty Gas Range

  • Brand Jade Products Inc., of Commerce, Calif.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Jade Products Inc. is recalling Dynasty gas ranges in 30, 36, and 48-inch sizes with model number DGRSC because the ranges can tip over if a heavy weight is placed on an open oven door, creating a risk of burn injuries from hot food or liquids. The model number can be found on the serial plate accessed by lifting the right-hand cooking module, and the brand name "Dynasty" appears on the front of the range.

To address this hazard, consumers should not place any objects on an open oven door until an anti-tip bracket has been installed. Consumers may contact Jade Products to arrange for free installation of the anti-tip bracket, which will bring the ranges into compliance with household gas cooking appliance stability standards. Some of these ranges were also involved in a separate March 2001 recall for a delayed gas ignition defect.
