What happened

Tek Nek Toys is recalling children's riding vehicles manufactured before April 2000 that are powered by a single 6-volt battery. The affected models include the Prowler, Dodge Ram, Corvette, SPX Motorcycle, and Honda. These plastic vehicles, intended for children ages 1-1/2 to 4 years old, can be identified by the model name printed on each vehicle and a "MADE IN CHINA" label. The recalled vehicles have a maximum speed of 1 to 2 mph and some models include working lights, horns, engine sounds, and music.

The battery charger or wires in these vehicles can overheat, creating fire and injury hazards. Consumers should immediately stop using the vehicles and contact Tek Nek Toys to receive a free replacement charger. Consumers must not charge the vehicles or allow children to use them until they have received the new charger from the manufacturer.
