Cost Plus World Market Recalls Modular Storage Bars Due to Injury Hazard

Is my product affected?

Modular Storage Bars

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Cost Plus World Market is recalling wall-mounted storage bars made of medium-density fiberboard with an oak wood finish due to a defect that can cause the product to fall. The storage bars, which come in two sizes (36 inches long or 23.5 inches short), are designed to hold hanging storage accessories like baskets, hooks, and S-hooks. When weight is applied to the bars, the screws holding the mounting plate can pull out, causing the bar to fall and potentially injure someone.

The recalled storage bars have SKU numbers 491996 for the long version and 491997 for the short version, which are printed on the UPC sticker on the product packaging. Consumers should immediately stop using these storage bars and return them to any Cost Plus World Market or World Market store for a free replacement.
