Classic Concepts has recalled the Aman Trunk, a wooden storage trunk sold exclusively at Cost Plus World Market, because the surface coating paint on the interior metal chains contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. The trunk measures 38 inches wide by 18 inches high by 18 inches deep and features a natural wood finish on the sides with a deep red painted front panel, decorative metal trim, metal handles, four carved wooden feet, and chains inside that attach the hinged lid to the trunk body. The trunk can be identified by a UPC bar code numbered 24441018 on a sticker at the bottom and one of these PO numbers: 200450992, 200450994, 200450995, 400450998, or 400450999.
Consumers who own this trunk should immediately stop using it and contact Cost Plus World Market for a free replacement of lead-compliant chains.
