Mammut is recalling its RescYou crevasse rescue devices with batch numbers 12-12 and 03-13 due to a defect in the pull cord lock cam that can fail during use. These pulley systems are designed for ski mountaineering and mountain climbing to rescue people who have fallen into crevasses. The devices consist of blue and silver mechanical ascenders connected by an orange rope threaded through pulleys, with "MAMMUT RESCYOU" and the batch number printed in white on the side of the blue ascender. The cam failure poses a risk of death and injury to users.
