Adobe is recalling high-powered magnet sets that were distributed with promotional materials packages. The magnets came in a green box with a black lid and consisted of 12 spherical silver magnets about 5 millimeters in diameter attached to a laminated green cardboard sheet. The promotional materials featured the text "With Adobe Connect it all just clicks" printed in a circular shape around the magnets.
When two or more of these magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside a child's intestines and clamp onto body tissues, potentially causing intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis, and death. Internal injuries from the magnets can also pose serious lifelong health effects. According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using the magnets and either discard them or contact Adobe for instructions on returning the magnets.
