Metal Halide Lamps
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Philips has recalled 150-watt industrial metal halide lamps manufactured between November 2012 and March 2013 due to a defect in the internal wiring that can cause arcing, creating fire and laceration hazards. The lamps may catch fire or the glass may shatter during use. The recalled lamps are egg-shaped with clear glass, approximately five inches long, and feature a medium base. They can be identified by markings including "Philips," "150W," "ALTO M142/0," "MHC150/U/MP/4K," and UPC code 046677377243 on the protective cardboard sleeve.
According to the recall, consumers should immediately stop using the lamps and contact Philips for either a full refund or replacement. Philips will issue refunds as credits to distributors with recalled lamps in their inventories and will replace recalled lamps that have already been installed at no cost to consumers.
