Stride Rite has recalled "Joanna" girl's sandals because the metal flower decoration on the shoe can detach and pose a choking hazard to children. The recalled sandals were sold in white with a silver-colored metal flower or brown with a copper-colored metal flower, in girl's sizes 8.5 through 10. They can be identified by the name "Joanna" and style number CG40723 (white) or CG40725 (brown) printed on the underside of the front shoe strap, with "StrideRite" on the bottom of the shoe.
Consumers who have these sandals should immediately remove them from children and contact Stride Rite to receive a prepaid envelope for returning the shoes. Once the shoes are returned, customers will receive a voucher for the purchase price that can be redeemed at Stride Rite stores or striderite.com.
