BRP is recalling 2011 and 2012 Can-Am Commander side-by-side vehicles due to a steering hazard. The recall affects several models including the Can-Am Commander 800 and 1000, Commander XT 800R and 1000, Commander XT 800 and 1000, Commander X 1000, and Commander Limited 1000. The problem stems from improper assembly of the steering column to the rack and pinion, which can cause loss of steering control and create a serious risk of injury or death to operators, passengers, or bystanders.
