Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
American Honda is recalling 2012 Honda FourTrax Rancher ATVs, models TRX420TE and TRX420TM, because a weld on the front right upper suspension arm can separate. When this weld fails, the driver may lose control of the vehicle, creating a crash hazard. The affected ATVs are red or green and display "Honda" on both sides of the fuel tank, "Rancher" on the front cowl below the handlebars, and "Rancher" on the left rear fender. Specific VIN ranges are being recalled: TRX420TE models with VINs from C4500841 through C4502580, and TRX420TM models with VINs from C4500542 through C4501681.
According to the recall notice, consumers who own affected ATVs should immediately stop using them and contact their Honda ATV dealer to schedule a free repair. The model number can be found on the right front frame down pipe above the driver's right-hand side front wheel, and the VIN is located on the top center front of the frame, visible when looking down between the gear rack bars and through the front fairing's middle opening.
