Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
KYMCO is recalling 2009 through 2012 utility task vehicles (UTVs), specifically the UXV 500, UXV 500 LE, UXV 500 SE, UXV 500i, UXV 500i LE, and UXV 500i SE models. These gasoline-powered, off-road vehicles have an exposed portion of the exhaust system that can allow debris such as leaves, brush, or other flammable materials to enter and ignite, creating a fire hazard. The recalled vehicles are two-seater models with a cargo bed and steering wheel, available in red, blue, black, gray, orange, silver, and green, with "KYMCO" branding on the rear fenders and front hood.
Consumers who own affected vehicles should stop using them immediately and return them to a KYMCO dealer. The dealer will install a repair kit at no cost to the consumer. Owners can identify their vehicle's model year by locating the VIN on the frame behind the right front wheel and checking the tenth character (9=2009, A=2010, B=2011, C=2012).
