Legrand Wiremold is recalling four-outlet under-cabinet power and lighting strips, model number PX1001, due to reversed electrical wires on the receptacles that pose a risk of electrical shock. The recalled power strips come in red packaging labeled "Wiremold-Series Part PX1001" with UPC number 0 86698 00125 3. The affected products were manufactured between January 2011 and June 2012, with date codes imprinted on a circle on the bottom of the unit showing the month and year ("11" or "12").
Power strips bearing a black star symbol printed on the packaging and back cover are not affected by this recall. If you have one of these recalled power strips, you should immediately unplug and stop using it. According to the recall notice, consumers should return the power strip to Legrand Wiremold for either a replacement or refund.
