What happened

BatteriesPlus is recalling all RAYOVAC-branded replacement battery packs designed for cordless power tools due to an explosion hazard. The affected battery packs have part numbers beginning with "CTL" and are labeled "RAYOVAC" with either "NI-CD" or "NI-MH" printed in white lettering on the product. These batteries were sold in voltages ranging from 2.4 to 18 volts and are compatible with tools made by Black and Decker, Bosch, DeWalt, Makita, Lincoln, Milwaukee, Panasonic, Ryobi, and Skil.

According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using the battery packs and remove them from any cordless tools. Consumers can contact BatteriesPlus for instructions on returning the product in exchange for store credit.
