What happened

Faribault Foods Inc. is recalling approximately 15,134 pounds of 14-oz. cans of Progresso Organic Chicken Noodle Soup produced on May 26, 2020, with best by dates of "BestByMAY262022" on the can or "09JUN2022" on the case and establishment number "EST18826A" printed on the bottom. The cans are mislabeled—they actually contain meatball and pasta product instead of chicken noodles—and contain undeclared allergens including milk, soy, beef, and pork. The products were shipped to retail locations nationwide, and the issue was discovered when a distributor received consumer complaints that the soup contained meatballs and pasta rather than the advertised contents.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions from consuming these products. Consumers who have purchased these items are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service recommends that anyone concerned about an injury or illness contact a healthcare provider.
