GE Healthcare is recalling 2,180 Quasar Nuclear Medicine Systems with Hawkeye Option and Hawkeye 4 Option for Dual-Head Variable Angle Gamma Camera units worldwide. The systems are affected by accelerated fatigue of the lateral axis motion subsystem in the Infinia Computed Emission Tomography System, which could result in mechanical failure causing the detector to slide. This hazard may impact both patients and operators.
