Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling certain 2018-2021 model year vehicles including the C300, A220, AMG C43, AMG C63, GLE580, GLE450, GLE350, GLE53, GLB250, and related AMG models. These vehicles have LED headlights that may have been incorrectly adjusted during repairs, which could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
To remedy this issue, dealers will replace the LED headlights at no charge. Mercedes-Benz mailed initial notification letters to owners in August 2021 and January 2022, with a second notice to be sent once the remedy becomes available. The LED headlights may have been incorrectly adjusted during a vehicle repair. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
