Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is recalling certain Evolution H/T 245/70R16 tires because the Tire Identification Number (TIN) displays an incorrect manufacture date. The affected tires are marked with code 1723 when they should be marked with code 2317. An incorrect manufacture date on a tire may cause it to be used beyond its recommended service life, which increases the risk of tire failure and crash. These tires do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for tire identification and recordkeeping.
Cooper Tire will replace the affected tires at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 23, 2021. Owners of recalled tires should contact Cooper Tire customer service at 1-800-854-6288 to arrange a replacement. Cooper Tire's reference number for this recall is 171.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (Cooper Tire) is recalling certain Evolution H/T 245/70R16 tires. The Tire Identification Number (TIN) states the incorrect manufacture date of the tire. The correct code is 2317, and the subject tires are incorrectly marked with 1723. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires For Light Vehicles" and number 574, "Tire Identification & Recordkeeping."
