What happened

Navistar is recalling certain 2019-2021 International MV, 2020-2021 International HV, 2014-2020 International DuraStar, and 2015-2018 International WorkStar vehicles. The issue occurs when the parking brake is applied while the automatic transmission remains in drive or reverse and the operator engages the stationary PTO switch, which can cause the engine to rev and overcome the parking brake, potentially resulting in unexpected vehicle movement.

To address this issue, Navistar will notify owners and dealers will update the engine control module parameters for feature codes 12VXT or 12VXU at no charge. The recall began February 17, 2021. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 to schedule the update, referencing recall number 20510.

Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will update the parameters in the Cummins ECM for feature codes 12VXT or 12VXU that enables the PTO neutral interlock, free of charge. The recall began February 17, 2021. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 20510.

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2019-2021 International MV, 2020-2021 International HV, 2014-2020 International DuraStar and 2015-2018 International WorkStar vehicles. When the parking brake is applied and the automatic transmission is still in the drive or reverse position and the stationary PTO switch is engaged by the operator, the engine may rev and overcome the parking brake's ability to keep the vehicle from moving.
